This thread is dumb, no armor set is overated in this game, its all up to personal tastes.

if you really wanted to talk about overated, youd talk about the stats instead.

I agree with Tyla....any FOW armor....its now on every character to the point of ho hum...and on top of that its the UGHLISSSST armor in the game (no I dont have any of it, never have wanted any of it, and see no reason to get something that I wouldnt even let my ughlist old maid aunt wear!).

any armor dyed black---ok so you got black dye...so do I...that doesnt impress me at all seeing as I get one to drop just about every month.

ANY of the eye armors that are reskins -----that really is over rated! (which means most of the eye armors....).

I understand most of the FoW hate but Paragon Obsidian is one of my favorites in the entire game. The others are fugly though.

Elite Gladiator Warrior is awful and is far more common than FoW, so I think that's my number one hatred.

Mask of the Mo Zing, Bandanas, most FoW armors, most Vabbian armors, most EotN armors, and any Eotn Gloves except Chaos, although that's also pretty close to stupid.

In addition, any armor dyed purely black or white.

Title isn't ugliest armors in game, its overrated. I can like it all you want but in the end of the day people are going to say its overrated because a lot of people have fow armor.

I believe the Classic FoW Warrior to be overrated to me, however only in my opinion. Overrated yes, cool none the less though.
As said by some people already, no armor set is overrated, unless you personally believe it to be, thus overrated only to yourself.

Tormented shields look cool to me, and have a unique style to it. Never once has anyone told me i looked overrated ingame, but rather, praised it with "that looks cool, i want one, where do you get it, etc.

I have also found most FoW flamers here, are also unable to afford it, and simply flame over jealousy (just my observations, some may agree / disagree).

Tell you what, you go about in your 1k armour, and i'll go about in my armour, now we're both happy

I'd say most FoW armors are overrated. I used to play quite frequently on my monk, but eversince I got her FoW I don't play her anymore... overrated just means it is widely used as cool but in fact just big and flashy crap with poor design... only thing that makes it cool is price/rarety

as such most special type gloves look awful on many armor sets... they break body armor at elbow and dont fill up the gap.

of FOW armors i like ele and necro armors (both make and female) - they look very distinct and well designed... ranger and mesmer FOWs are not bad, but nothing special... the rest are total waste of gold (especially assasin FOW)

most assasin elite armors are utter crap... monument armor is not bad, but then againm its just a reuse of seitung/canthan model, and canthan skirt is way sexier

most male paragon armors = fail
except maybe for vabbian one

warriors (especially female) probably have it best. They got by far most distinct and well designed armors and weapons (just please dont paint it balck.. its terrible). Ofcourse they have a fair bit of clones from good old non elite kurzic armor, but still...
However latest female warrior trend kinda bothers me... Vabbian skirt + primeval shoes = wtf? I label it lame.

Or perhaps what makes it cool is that the individual wearing it likes the armor. I bought my derv fow armor because I like the way it looks not because "zomg its 1337 fow armor!!1!"

(Something loved by many) is completely overrated.

Ironically, isn't that what a lot of people say to make themselves appear better than others, "Oh you're just jealous of me" yada yada. Some of us do have fashion senses beyond black FoW. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of FoW armours, I'm just noting that.

As for my list:

Mesmer female FoW: I've said it a thousand times before, and I always will, I simply cannot see what's so good about it and it's slutty tight skirt. And considering the cost, it doesn't look special at all, something like elite kurzick or Primeval (for females) are more worthy of my eyeballs.

Monk FoW (only in black): Don't get me wrong, I actually like this armour, but black just ruins it completely. Such a shame everyone goes for black.

Warrior Primeval: Because it's the horrid combination of Sonic, Kenpachi, and a zombie. It's popularity is totally unbelievable.

I wouldn't say there is any overrated armour it is the way those go out and get in such a hurry.The reason why Monk FoW get dumped on his because they get it in a matter of 1 month time frame or sooner.Warriors don't even have that much in the way of FoW armour as the most popular set up is 15K Galds with charrhide boots and halmet or vabbian.I do agree with primeevil especially when male Warriors don't take thier halmets off in town.

I want my set of FoW for my Monk but the way things are going it may not happen.

I don't agree you can get this by just playing the game this inlcudes any 15k armour.

-Alot of the EotN headpeices look out of place to me, like 'spectacles' on a War, etc.
-FoW in general, though there are some half-decent ones.
-Kurz Rit armors, both elite and non-elite
-Most Ancient armors

Theres a lot more, but I can't think of them atm

Anything dyed black. Come on people, try something more creative then just "lolol dye it black cuz im rich." The mo zing or "ninja" mask can look good, but the way most people have it, it's bad.

Sorry to tell you this, but Mo Zing mask is pathetic. Black looks plain, simple and pijama like, and if you dye it white it means that you have no sense of taste.

Correct. Popular (FoW) yet ugly = overrated. Or even if you wanted, insanely popular = overrated. Those two are the only possible ways to judge the armors since inherent bonuses were removed. Unless you want to rate 5AL vs. 60 AL, I guess.

So I'm curious since you seem to disagree with my way of judging - how exactly does something become overrated if it's not basically a popularity/looks contest?
